South Coast Music Partnership (SCMP) is the Music Hub for:
Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP)
SCMP is a Consortium led by three organisations:
Portsmouth
Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole
Southampton and Isle of Wight
Together we lead a strong network of diverse local partnerships to deliver the National Plan for Music Education and provide high-quality music education for all children and young people across our region.
From September 2026, Portsmouth City Council's Portsmouth Music Service will be working alongside Portsmouth Guildhall Trust to provide support for a new Music Hub manager post as part of a planned transition prior to local government re-organisation, whereby Portsmouth Guildhall Trust becomes the Lead Partner for the Music Hub in Portsmouth and, as such, the Portsmouth Consortium Member as part of the South Coast Music Partnership.
As now, a wide range of funded and subsidised musical opportunities will continue to be available to schools for Portsmouth's children and young people and Portsmouth Music Service will continue to be led and championed by Sue Beckett and team.
Representing a diverse set of stakeholders, skills, backgrounds, and experiences, the South Coast Music Partnership Strategic Board meets quarterly to check, challenge and champion the decisions of the consortium leadership team, with independent decision making.
